TIPS

Having an efficient heating system running on a low carbon fuel is one of the most important steps you can take to reduce your fuel bills and your carbon dioxide emissions.

Over half of your household fuel bills are spent on heating and hot water. Making your heating system the most efficient it can be will not only help reduce your monthly bills, but also your carbon footprint.

The UK Government has set out a target of net zero carbon emissions by 2050. So we have just under 30 years to reduce our household emissions by 95%.

There are likely to be drastic changes to the way that we heat our homes to meet these targets. Installing heat pumps will be a must for all new builds and new heating installations. Aironic is working towards offering this service to our customers before 2025. In the meantime, there is a lot we can do to help make our homes more efficient.

ENERGY SAVING TIPS

Invest in smart thermostats

Smart thermostats learn your households habits and routines, automatically turning off your heating when you're not at home or running it on eco mode.

Bleed your radiators

This is recommended yearly or if your radiators are making noises. It will help your system run more efficiently, and isn't as complicated as it sounds. There are many online videos available to help guide you through the process. If this isn't your type of thing, give us a call and we can come and do it for you.

Turn down your thermostat by 1°c

Even turning down thermostats by one degree can drastically cut your energy bills.

Move furniture away from radiators

Improve air circulation in a room by allowing the heat to move around freely. Moving beds or sofas away from radiators can really help.

Reduce your boiler flow temperature

Combi boilers flow temperature is usually set to 70°c, you could save money if you turn it down to 55-60°c. This will also help your boiler run more efficiently.
